Hey all, we wish to inform you of something rather big regarding the business. We always try to keep our customers in mind whenever we do something, and we also like to pay attention to things going on around us that may impact the business. As many of us know, gas prices have gone up drastically; and we have been asked what our plans for the future of delivery are. We also have to keep in mind that the business has grown drastically to us having nearly double the deliveries in our given delivery zones.
With all of this in mind, we decided that we don't want to up the delivery fees. Delivery Fees are intended to pay the fuel costs and the pay of our drivers more than anything.
We also recognize that as the number of orders is increasing, we can't keep adding and adding since we can only realistically deliver so late into the day. We don't wish to make our customers wait all day for delivery, and we don't want to put long hours on our drivers. Some days in the past have been sixteen hour days, or multi-day trips, which is way too much.
So to keep costs down and to not overwork any of our drivers, we have a compromise we have been testing on and off.
Rather than deliver to everyone individually, we are looking to create hub-stops. By hub-stops, we mean places for multiple customers to drive to and meet up with our driver within a certain time span. Examples include a Walmart Parking Lot, or a Walgreens Lot, or a Gas Station or even a park. And of course we will try to keep them close to multiple customers so no one has to drive too far out of the way.
We realize that this might not work for everyone, and we will be taking the next few weeks to try and sort out any issues that this model might create. If need be we will still deliver directly to your doorstep; however this may result in a higher delivery fee.
At the same time, we want to make this worth it for our customers. In addition to keeping costs down, we are thinking of other ways to add some spice to the plan. Take for example our plan this week.
-The Surprise-
This week, those who meet at a given hub-stop will receive a Ticket with a random number on it. And at the end of the delivery week, we will be picking 5 numbers at random, and those 5 that are picked will receive one of five prizes. As to what they are, who can say. It may be a free Brisket, or cuts of your choice for free, or perhaps a $50-off coupon, or maybe we'll give 25% off an order of burger/ground-pork. More information will be provided later on in the week as we iron everything out.
For now though, we look forward to continuing to grow the business, and we especially look forward to working with all of you in the future.
Have a great weekend~
