We at Petersen Meats are always looking for ways to make your experience better. One thing we had heard more than a few times was the fact that it was difficult to know when to expect our delivery on delivery day. If ever we had an idea for delivery time, it was always a rough estimate that varied a couple hours, and usually we only had that if a person asked ahead of time. And to top that off, we definitely have run into delays on the roads while delivering which can set us back by several hours in some cases and throw that info totally off.
We apologize for this, we didn't have a good way to keep people up to date without the driver texting people one by one, or as they were next to deliver to, or without having John get ahold of everyone as he hears from the driver. That has certainly been an issue; until now.
Before we used the Circuit Route Mapper app to plot our routes for the day, which at times could be way off and not at all accurate. We finally found an alternative known as Zeo. Not only is it more accurate; but it has more features that we have been testing out to assist us in our deliveries. One of the features that we are most excited about, that we have been testing for three days now, is the automated messaging feature.
We now have the ability to text out the direction of the route the morning of (as well as a customized message), estimated arrival times, and a link to a tracker that details driver location.
With it we put in your information for better organization and it can then plot out the route. We can then customize a message as stated above (route direction, est. times, etc), and mass-deploy to everyone we have information for; and again, this will include a link to a tracker to keep an eye on us. With this it is now easy as can be to guesstimate when delivery will be based on route direction, our location, and what we give as an ETA. And if we fall behind at all, we can always deploy another message.
We are still testing this though. One thing that we heard while testing the system is that if we put in that a delivery failed (unable to deliver for a variety of potential reasonings), it still shows up as delivered. We will be looking into that.
Otherwise, all seems good with this system.
As always, we are committed to giving you the best experience possible, always looking to grow. And with that have a fantastic rest of your day~
